ILoveQ – the new virtual waiting room within the Backstage Ticketing ecosystem

In online ticketing the bigger sales promotions (preceded by intensive marketing campaigns, providing a significant price advantage, or expected to lead to sold-out events) can cause serious strain. ILoveQ provides the right answer to this problem.

When a large number of customers try to buy tickets at the same time, it is roughly the same additional load on an online ticketing system, as if the capacity requirement of onsite box offices (cashiers) suddenly increased from 5 to 500 open windows for a few hours. It is impossible to economically maintain flexible capacities at such a high level (what would 495 unnecessary cashiers do on gray weekdays?), which is why queuing emerged as a solution, accepted for thousands of years.

The ILoveQ virtual waiting room, which can be attached as part of the Backstage Ticketing ecosystem, debuted during the flash sale campaign announcing the 2026 SZIN festival. The average admission speed was adjustable and set to a 55 people/minute rate, while visitors waited a maximum of 15 minutes even during the highest load. They were always aware of the exact number of people in front of them and their remaining waiting time.

The frontend was equipped with a design and contents tailored to the festival, so the waiting time was not wasted for the user, nor the festival itself and generated positive feedback on both sides. Meanwhile, the backend provided all relevant data to the organizers in real time.

Finally, some pictures of the implementation:
